About this bottle

The inaugural batch of Milam & Greene Very Small Batch Bourbon was created by Master Blender Heather Greene, who combined 75 barrels of bourbon from Tennessee and Kentucky (in an 80:20 ratio). The Kentucky bourbon was distilled by Master Distiller Marlene Holmes in Kentucky, using the brand's signature mash bill of 70% corn, 22% malted rye, and 8% malted barley. These aged bourbons were merged in a 1,000-gallon vat and then finished with charred French oak staves previously used for aging tawny port and Milam & Greene rye whiskey. The staves underwent a two-week "baking" process in the Texas summer heat before charring, then were bundled and steeped in the marrying vat for two weeks. Bottled at 54% ABV, 1,500 9L cases are available at select retailers in the US and Alberta, Canada, starting June 2023. The suggested retail price is $69.99.

Dakota Upton 3.8

Baking spices with fruity notes climb over the palate from introduction to finish; a satisfying spice bomb on the finish; noticeable wood oak chew with tannins, spice, tobacco, and smokiness; hint of tawny port wine; many different flavors dancing around which makes it both fun and difficult to identify. Overall an unique experience. The process for this bourbon is very interesting and unique, worth reading about.

Kara Noll 5.0

Smells like eggnog, with warm baking spices, caramel, and vanilla. This is my absolute favorite. It's the most distinctive and flavorful bourbon I've had so far. I'm eager for their next release, but I will be stocking up on as much of this as possible!!

Hubert Vo 4.0

Quite enjoyable with a pleasant smooth burn as it goes down.

Adriel Najera 4.8

Among the finest I've experienced.
