Batch: PAZ020919 55% Smell: Upon the initial whiff, I detect notes of banana and unsweetened cocoa or dark chocolate. A mineral undertone is present. On the second sniff, there's a faint aroma of freshly cut pine and citrus. Taste: What an intense flavor experience! It certainly makes its presence known at 55% ABV, yet it possesses a complex profile. The banana flavor is reminiscent of fruit that is just reaching its peak sweetness. A truly wonderfully complex mezcal.

About this bottle
Mezcal Pierde Almas, specifically the Tepextate variety, is crafted predominantly from wild Oaxacan agaves, presented in individual varietal bottlings. The agave hearts undergo a baking process lasting as long as five days in earthen kilns. Following this, the mash ferments naturally in timbered tanks before being distilled using a copper pot still with a coiled condenser.

One of the most beautiful mezcals I've ever had. I love the balance of hot spice, herbs, and fruit.
