This is delicious. I've consumed it neat and with a large ice cube. I only just realized I hadn't logged it after finishing the bottle! It's very smoky and smooth, precisely what I seek in a sipping mezcal.

About this bottle
Nuestra Soledad is recognized for its collection of single-village mezcals from El Jolgorio. The mezcal originating from Santiago Matatlán, situated in the eastern Valles Centrales region, is crafted from espadín agave. The agave undergoes roasting with mesquite and oak in underground pits, followed by open-air fermentation and double distillation in copper pot stills.

The aroma is reminiscent of gasoline, but in a positive way. It has a clean, mineral-like quality. A subtle smokiness is present in the background. It's easy to drink neat.
Noticeably harsh with fusel alcohol. Lingering woody ash with a touch of sweetness in the finish.
A robust, smoky spirit. I favor Ilegal Mezcal over this.
Very vegetal, with a sharp initial taste.
Unripe banana and chocolate notes.
