About this bottle

Camus VS Cognac, part of the primary offerings from the largest family-owned cognac house, includes eaux-de-vie from the Borderies region. It belongs to their collection of intensely aromatic cognacs. The distillation process involves lees and a technique called "Instensity," where desirable aromatic fractions from the "heads" are kept. The eaux-de-vie matures in small, lightly toasted fine grain French oak casks for a minimum of two years.

Ronald Reyna 4.3

What a wonderful Cognac! Aromas of ripe orchard fruits—a blend of apple, pear, white grapes, and apricots. There's also a vanilla spice scent. Tasting this nectar, the fruit is prominent and the vanilla spice follows immediately. When held on the tongue, these flavors interact nicely, like an alcoholic fruit punch. The finish is medium-long, drying, and makes you want another sip. While there are more refined and complex Cognacs available; after all, this is the introductory offering from Camus. However, what an introduction! It's typically found in the $20-30 range in the US. It would be very difficult to find a better value. This is very easy to sip and enjoy and would be an excellent starting point for someone new to Cognac. And, even if you're not new, it's still a fantastic Cognac.

Peppered pear nose. Complex and long: starts with peppery alcohol, then gives way to lilac (closing my eyes, the drink is lilac-hued). It finishes like a Granny Smith, it doesn't leave my mouth dry, in fact my cheeks water for more. A light drink, not my custom or preference; done well, just not my type. Like a softly spoken blonde with baby blues that has to be coaxed to blossom: the tease is for some.

Beatrice Coronado 3.3

Tastes like bubble gum, a little harsh on the nose, slightly unbalanced, but still a pleasant and simple experience.

Moises Cheney 4.0

This spirit possesses considerable body and thickness despite its youth. I'd happily purchase it again!

Kareem Haro 1.5

Even good cognac won't become my favorite spirit.

Lucretia Wendt 3.5

Sweetness and a lasting impression. Quite good.
