The aroma from the bottle is of brown sugar, gingerbread, anise/licorice, and cloves. It smells sweet. It's unmistakably rum, dark and sweet. The flavor of anise detracts from the rum experience. If you dislike port wine and are seeking a dessert beverage, this might be for you. When mixed with cola, it was excessively sweet for my preference. If you intend to sweeten a drink, this rum would be a suitable choice. Evaluated while sipping it neat.

I use this as a dessert spirit, opting for it over Kahlua due to its lower sugar content. On its own, it has a nutty and vanilla-like taste. When combined with coconut flavors, a maple essence emerges. Mix it with Coconut La Croix for a maple bar soda - seriously, it tastes precisely like a maple bar donut. An excellent dessert rum.

Amiyah Cecil 3.0

Sweet aromas of clove, nutmeg, butterscotch, cola, and cacao nibs on the nose. The mouthfeel is rich. The palate reveals more nutmeg, butterscotch, cola, and cacao, in addition to coffee and a faint hint of lime peel. A slight warmth is present in the medium-long finish. Rated 3.00 out of 5.00 – Good (served neat)

King Drummond 4.0

It's nearly identical to brown sugar syrup. A faint hint of vanilla and a touch of spice are present during tasting, but otherwise, it's all brown sugar. Easy and enjoyable to consume.

Roscoe Brownlee 4.0

A fantastic and distinctive rum. It reminds me of syrup made from brown sugar. Wonderful in an old fashioned.

Jonah Bach 3.5

Sweetness reminiscent of brown sugar with a hint of spice at the conclusion.
