New England Distilling Eight Bells Rum

This rum has a distinctive aroma and taste. Initially, I detected some muskiness, likely from oak, overshadowing the chocolate and molasses aromas. The same muskiness was present on the palate, with slightly more chocolate. The finish was smooth, but brief, too brief. When I drink this rum, it reminds me of a Japanese Whisky called Kamiki, which is aged in cedar casks and has a dominant cedar presence on the nose and palate.

Wax with notes of honeycomb and sweet lemons. Mild vanilla and coconut hints, plus honeydew. Tastes most similar to Central American style spirits I've experienced.
