Lamas Smoked Single Malt

- Limited edition (only 400 bottles) - 51% ABV (highest proof in Brazil to date) - Created in collaboration with a top Brazilian cigar specialist for pairing with (mature/stronger) cigars. - Key elements: smoked malt / finishing in ex-imperial stout beer barrels (sweet, 8-10 months) / alcohol content. - Unfiltered - No coloring - 1-liter bottle. Smell: The first layer is smoky, incense-like, and very sweet, leaning towards toasted caramel. Following that, you can perceive hints of vanilla, citrus fruit (oranges), woodiness, something reminiscent of moss/earth, intense spice, a lot of fresh aroma like eucalyptus candy, and some perception of alcohol. The spice + alcohol create a sensation similar to habanero pepper. Taste: Sweet, smoky, incense-like, robustly bitter, smoked meat, woody, with a relative correlation between smell and taste. The citrus fruit remains. It doesn't have the complexity observed in the aroma. The alcohol's heat arrives with considerable force due to its proof. Finish: Medium to long, dominated by smoke and something reminiscent of barbecue in the aftertaste, along with a subtle toasted note possibly from the stout barrel. The alcohol's heat lingers for some time. Overall impressions: An excellent spirit, great value for money. No coloring, no chill filtration, bottled at 51% ABV, and in 1-liter bottles. This spirit has a peculiar smokiness, not at all like Scottish peat, but rather burnt wood and incense, characteristic notes of the smoky spirits from this distillery. A spirit where the distillery shows its evolution. I recommend tasting with ice or a splash of water, as well as a great cigar for tobacco enthusiasts.
