• Brazilian Single Malt • From Rio Grande do Sul • Aged for 8 years in American ex-bourbon oak casks • Finished in ex-wine casks for 12 to 24 months (type not specified by the distillery) • No caramel coloring • No chill filtration • Limited batch of 1100 numbered bottles Smell: Wine-like, raisins, dried plums, dates, malt, sweetness, vanilla, good oakiness, citrus reminiscent of apricots, fresh pear fruitiness and cooked pears (like compote), caramel, light cinnamon, slight butteriness, slight nuttiness, and low alcohol perception despite the 46%. An exceptionally pleasant whisky that opens up more and more as it rests in the glass. Taste: Sweetness, oakiness, fruitiness, and slight bitterness. Good correspondence with the smell but less complex, although very flavorful. The alcohol is more present at this stage, yet still very palatable. The wine-like and dried fruit notes are very evident and balance very well with the sweetness, bitterness, and oakiness. Finish: Medium intensity, with a woody, malty, sweet aftertaste and some alcohol warmth. The experience is followed by a slight dry sensation in the mouth. After the warmth subsides, wine-like and nutty notes emerge, with more persistent oakiness. Overall Impressions: An excellent whisky, a national standard of quality. Although it is a smooth whisky, it has good complexity and very pleasant wine-like notes. The dried fruit notes are the highlight for me, especially those reminiscent of dates and apricots. A collectible whisky with excellent value for money. I recommend tasting it neat, as we are talking about a single malt of excellent quality.

On the nose, a sweet ex-bourbon cask influence. On the palate, wine-like and sweet, with woodiness from the bourbon cask and a hint of vanilla. The finish is short to medium.
