Bob Jackson 3.8

Nose: fruity, persimmon chocolate, sweet, caramel, faint aroma of damp wood, slightly wine-like, milk chocolate, citrus leaning towards sweet orange peel, vanilla, and slightly alcoholic. Palate: quite sweet, spicy, robust bitterness, fruity still leaning towards persimmon, light vanilla, woody, and the alcohol's warmth is more noticeable than in the nose. Finish: medium, with balanced sweetness and bitterness and a predominant persimmon flavor. Overall Impressions: a whisky that improves significantly as the bottle empties. Serving a dram and letting it rest is a great recommendation for this whisky. The persimmon note is dominant in this whisky, a characteristic observed in all the whiskies I've tried from Lamas; I believe that, due to its prominence in all sensory aspects, this note is related to something in the fermentation that wasn't well resolved. It's not a complex whisky, but well-balanced in its flavors, with the alcohol becoming slightly more pronounced in all aspects of the tasting. Whisky recommended for tasting with ice, neat, or in cocktails.

Whiskey Lamas Verus Single Malt – Double Wood 720 ml. It has a golden hue and a vibrant sheen, presented without coloring or chill filtration. Verus offers aromas that evoke floral notes, honey, caramel, vanilla, almond, and malt. The taste is pleasing, with a balanced blend of tannins and spice, revealing fruity and cocoa nuances, culminating in a delicately sweet finish. Aging in American oak barrels followed by a finish in French oak barrels (previously holding Port-style liqueur wines from Serra Gaúcha) imparts a woody, subtly spicy, sweet, and velvety sensation. Verus (meaning 'authentic' in Latin) is a single malt whose complexity is enhanced by its dual barrel maturation. CHARACTERISTICS: Alcohol content: 43%. Volume: 720 mL. Palate: Balanced tannins and spice, with fruity, cocoa, and sweet notes. Aging: American oak barrel (ex-Bourbon) and finishing in European oak barrel (ex-Porto). Source: Casa da Bebida
