Nose: The first layer presents smoky, incense, and sweet notes. Subsequently, a slight vanilla, citrusy orange fruitiness, wet wood, something reminiscent of moss/earthiness, spiciness, a mild fresh aroma like mint candy, and low alcohol perception can be detected. Letting this whiskey sit in the glass for about ten minutes improves the integration between the layers, revealing better harmony among the aromas. Palate: Sweet, smoky, slightly bitter, woody, with a good correlation between nose and palate. The citrus fruitiness persists. It doesn't have the complexity of the aroma, but it's still very pleasant, balanced, and without alcohol aggression. Finish: Medium, with smokiness and something resembling barbecue predominating. General Impressions: A good whiskey, offering great value for money. It has no coloring, no chill filtration, is bottled at 43% ABV, and comes in 1-liter bottles. This whiskey has a unique smokiness, which is not reminiscent of the peat in Scotch whiskies, but rather burnt wood and incense, characteristic notes of Lamas's smoked whiskies. Like other labels from the distillery, this whiskey improves SIGNIFICANTLY once it's past the halfway point in the bottle. I recommend tasting it neat, with ice, or in your preferred cocktails.

Golden color with intense shine, without dye and without cold filtration. Aiming to replicate the effect of peat found in traditional peated whiskeys, Lamas employed an innovative smoking technique where reforestation wood imparts a distinctive smoky aroma and flavor to the grains. Nimbus (meaning 'cloud' in Latin) is a unique, smoky whiskey. It begins smoothly and slightly sweet on the palate, with a touch of smoke that transitions into drier mid-palate layers, offering a novel experience that consistently encourages another sip. Tasting it signifies reaching new heights for enthusiasts of unconventional single malts. ALCOHOL CONTENT: 43% VOL. Aging Temp.: No age Statement. Aroma: Smoked, with hints of bacon, smoky. Taste: Slightly sweet, dry, and smoky. Barrel: American Oak ex-Bourbon. Source: Lamas Destilaria.
No aroma, peat is upfront, woodiness is very present, vanilla is secondary. In flavor, besides the very prominent peat, there's also a strong spiciness. Followed by caramel notes. Finishes quite alcoholic, and somewhat unbalanced. Low value for the price.
