The cognac has a full-bodied and oily taste, with hints of vanilla, oak, and chocolate. The aroma harmoniously complements the taste with vanilla and chocolate notes, and light resinous undertones in the background. "Mahachkala" cognac is made from high-quality distillates aged for at least fifteen years in oak barrels. It has a pleasant, oily texture and a surprisingly full flavor. The drink first went on sale in 1980. "Makhachkala" KS has won 19 gold and 3 silver awards. It is recommended to serve it neat. The Derbent Cognac Plant traces its history back to 1861. That's when the vineyards of Derbent received tax breaks for distilling spirits, and cognac production in the region rapidly increased. The main production came from the Derbent Winery, which was equipped with advanced equipment even then. Later, in 1960, several independent wineries joined it, and the plant was renamed the Derbent Cognac Plant. At the end of the 20th century, despite the widespread uprooting of vineyards due to the war on drunkenness, many vineyards in Derbent were saved. Currently, the Derbent Cognac Plant is a modern enterprise using advanced technologies, the latest equipment, and the work of talented professionals who have preserved ancient recipes and are successfully creating new alcoholic masterpieces. It is highly significant that the Derbent Cognac Plant is a fully integrated enterprise, meaning its cognacs are 100% Derbent-made. Grapes are grown here, all stages of production take place here, culminating in the bottling of the finished drinks. The plant's products are distinctive and filled with local flavor and traditions.
