Batch #2 An intense Armenian Brandy from Grisa & Jugo, created by Flaviar founders using local ingredients. It's a blend of Kangun, Kakhet, Garan Dmak & Rkatsiteli grapes, aged 23 years in Caucasian Oak, with only 3500 bottles produced. It begins aromatically with notes of dried fruits, nuts & spices; its rich body adds notes of plum, raisin, dark cherry, almond & walnut; leading to a moderately long, spicy finish with hints of clove, tobacco, molasses, vanilla, oak & a touch of black pepper. About this bottle
This Armenian brandy, named "Shakmat" (meaning "chess" in Armenian), is a result of cooperation between Flaviar and Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit. It is an XO blend crafted from native grape varietals. The production involves a continuous column still and a double distillation process using French alembic stills. Chess is a highly valued tradition in Armenia, alongside the enjoyment of "Konyak."

I'm unsure about other reviewers' opinions. It's very smooth... strong raisin notes with undertones of vanilla... among the best Brandeis I've ever encountered.
Very smooth... hints of raisins and aged sherry with a touch of vanilla... a gentle slow burn... aged and mellow. The finish lingers pleasantly.
Notes of raisin, molasses, and wood.
