A potent, unaged Rye Whiskey from Journeyman Distillery in Michigan, aged for less than a day in new charred oak barrels post-distillation. It begins with floral notes, hints of spice, and wet grain. A sweet phase introduces rye and wheat characteristics, leading to a swift, dry conclusion with notes of grain, lavender, spice, and oak. Sampled May / July 2018 / August 2022
Awful. Needs aging. This is like Last Feather Rye before it's put in barrels.
A lot of aroma with a little taste, definitely white rye.
Burning, but could be a good component in mixed drinks.
