This dram from the Summerton Virtual Whisky Festival sample is more intriguing than many in the Mackmyra lineup. It first presents notes of cherry Bakewell tart and an unusual pear sweetness, reminding me more of a cherry brandy than a whisky. The finish lingers with spice and dried fruit for a long time. Overall, a very pleasing dram, though I question if it's truly a whisky.

About this bottle
Efva Attling, a Swedish jewelry designer, collaborated with Mackmyra's master blender Angela D'Orazio for the creation of Mackmyra Moment Efva. They selected nineteen barrels, predominantly oloroso, American oak, and ex-bourbon casks. A cask previously holding cherry wine was incorporated to enhance the sweetness. The bottle features a polished silver cork designed by Efva.
