I visited the distillery on release day in 2023 to obtain this annual bottling. This particular version has been finished in barrels from Revolution Brewing's Deth's Tar. Initially, the aroma was quite potent but seemed to mellow with time. The first sip was intensely hot, but it also improved as time passed, or perhaps my senses just adjusted. On the palate, I detected nice chocolate cherry notes, a rather thin mouthfeel, and a medium-length, warm, dry oak finish. It's a very satisfying pour, quite distinct from the standard expression of this whiskey, which is also very good.
