The nose offered a light peat, a sweet medicinal cherry, and deep beneath, some chocolate. Later, a faint grape note emerged. The body was medium. The palate was very sweet initially, with peat dominating afterward. The primary flavors were peat and a distinct sweetness, with peat being the most prominent. The finish was very long, characterized by a smoky peatiness. It was enjoyable. Note: I was interested in this bottle due to its World Whiskies Award results and my enjoyment of smoky spirits. The peat dominated from the start and throughout. While it's sweet and peaty, I found it difficult to understand how it won an award. Overall, it was an interesting and acceptable experience, but not exceptional.
