About this bottle

This 100% agave offering from Jose Cuervo provides a superior quality and value compared to the basic Cuervo Gold mixto tequila. It serves as a suitable option for margaritas, tequila sunrises, and palomas; while Jose Cuervo Tradicional Silver may not be highly complex, its neutral character makes it an adaptable mixer.

Jamison Redman 2.5

Aroma: mint, spice, cooked agave, earthy vegetal notes, citrus peel, grapefruit, buttery salt, botanical notes, moderate alcohol sting. Palate: cracked pepper, sautéed bell pepper, ginger, citrus zest, mint, grapefruit, cooked agave, vegetal and floral notes, clove, noticeable alcohol sting, finishing rather quickly with mint, citrus, and cooked agave essences. This expression is certainly superior to the Especial Silver, though that's not a significant endorsement. The aroma and palate present more richness, but the flavors are somewhat tart and generally jumbled. I would skip this one and opt for superior choices within the same cost bracket.

Jose Cuervo Tradicional Silver Tequila looks clear. The scent is of sweet agave nectar. The taste features that same element, with a noticeable amount of smoke and earth. It has a medium body and a medium-dry finish. RJT

Sergio Russ 2.5

A crisp Agave Spirit made by NOM 1122. It starts aromatically with notes of agave, fruits, flowers, herbs & spices, leading to a balanced, medium-length finish. May 2017

Earnest Guerra 3.0

Sweet agave on the nose, but black pepper dominates the palate. It’s pleasant enough to drink solo, but the sharp finish makes it better suited for mixing.

Maverick Markham 4.3

Much better than most people claim. For instance, I find it superior to Espolon. Very floral, agavy, and salty. Amazing in a margarita.

Merrill Andrus 2.5

I downed it at work because I was thirsty, then I swiped it from there and drank it while watching Batman Begins.
