Milagro Select Barrel Reserve Silver Tequila

It doesn't quite match Roca Patron (it's missing a buttery quality and soft sweetness), but for half the cost, I'd say this is an excellent sipping silver. The oak finish provides a pleasant, slightly peppery dryness that makes you want to keep sipping to identify the underlying sweetness. It has a velvety texture. The sweetness is like sugar frosting in the mid-palate, but it's so incredibly smooth and crisp that you don't really focus on it. I made a couple of simple margaritas with a tres agave premixer and found it to be nice, though a bit alcohol-forward. It was good, but significantly better neat. I've noticed that not all mid-shelf silver spirits are perfect on their own, but this one easily qualifies. If you're someone who enjoys sipping slowly with lime and salt and little else, this is the one for you. It feels ideal for daytime drinking.

Excellent tequila!!! A pure aroma with no additives, where the classic smell of agave is perceived but without prominent alcohol notes. On the palate, it's very good, the finish drops off suddenly, leaving pleasant sensations.

My current top choice for sipping. Enjoy it straight. A great price for under $50.
