Maryjane Bray 3.3

Score: 15/23 Nose: Sugary caramel mingled with apricot or tangerine. A gentle grassy note accompanied by a whisper of mint. The raw distillate's cheese note has vanished. Offers pleasant depth without distinct individual aromas. Touches of spice and a hint of vanilla floral notes. Palate: Sweet caramel akin to cooked agave, with a hint of tangerine. Some barrel-derived spices. A noticeable grassy presence with a subtle menthol touch. While not overwhelmingly complex, it possesses reasonable depth, good body, and equilibrium. A classic, yet enjoyable, sweet tequila character. Sharp spices reminiscent of the barrel. The cheese essence is still detectable but significantly reduced. Finish: Features more of that cooked agave flavor. Less sweetness, with a stronger vegetal quality than previously. An occasional burst of grapefruit or perhaps lime. A very subtle cheese note remains. - Overall - This might be my preferred Insolente to date. It's more conventional, but in a positive manner. It's considerably less intriguing than the reposado, yet also far less peculiar. Considering the trade-offs, I'd rank them similarly. I'm considering a 14 or 15, settling on 15.
