About this bottle

William Grant established his distillery in Dufftown and worked at Mortlach before opening Glenfiddich in 1887. Grant's Whisky emerged much later, after William Grant & Sons acquired The Balvenie Distillery in 1892. Starting in 1898, he began combining whiskies from both distilleries to create Grant's Whisky. This 18-year bottling has been discontinued, though it remains available globally except in the United States.

Gran's 18 3.9 Gentle grape aroma Weak sherry Sweet honey-soaked biscuit, smooth and sweet. Finish has cinnamon and very faint peat. It's not extremely short, but it's too watery. As expected, the class difference is apparent. The aroma is more delicious than expected. The taste isn't exceptional, but it doesn't have any major flaws, making it ideal for gatherings (especially since the number is high). I regret not buying a couple more bottles. Unlike the straightforward sweetness of toffee and caramel found in Ballantine's 21, this lacks that direct sweetness, which I actually prefer.

It's a fine whisky, but considering the price, I'm sure it's not suitable for beginners. I'm glad I tried it, but there are better whiskies available for the same price.
