About this bottle

This highly limited edition from Penderyn Distillery, with only 2248 bottles produced, consists of a marriage of three ex-bourbon single casks chosen by the late Jim Swan. Each bottle is hand-filled and labeled, highlighting the significant impact of the wood on the whisky's smooth and flavorful profile. Penderyn, unique as the sole Welsh distillery, is recognized for its Faraday pot stills used in conjunction with a distillation column. Please note: This product is not offered in the US.

Laurie Tillman 3.8

Aroma: Charred wood, baked banana, a subtle, hard-to-identify savory element. Taste: Prominent dried apricot right away, some mild chocolate hints, a gentle nuttiness. Finish: The apricot flavor continues sweetly for a time, leaving a slightly dry sensation at the back of the mouth, with very little burn.

NZ Dramfest 2018. Years back I sampled some Pendeyns and they left me unimpressed. The bold oak makes up for it. After many drinks, this still stands tall. Thick, syrupy oak. 4.25

Ursula Overton 4.0

Day 5 of the advent calendar: We were both very fond of this. Notably oaky with vanilla notes. No harshness or lingering warmth. A sweet, clean finish. Hints of creme brulee.

Joey Branson 4.3

Matured in peat barrels and bottled at 46%, it has a good intensity and the flavor profile evolves nicely when diluted.

Anya Dinh 4.0

Oak and vanilla greet the nose, followed by cinnamon and apples on the palate.

Edmund Courtney 3.5

Acceptable.
