Rating: 8/23 Aroma: Rich and tannic with leather and tropical fruits (orange, mango, lime, banana). Taste: Quite tannic, with prominent tanned leather. Sweet fruits including mainly grape, surprisingly. It's also a bit tropical, with bitter lime mixed with orange and banana. The flavor is a bit thin. This has a disappointingly watery palate with some really challenging tanned leather that strongly moved into formaldehyde territory. Finish: The grape sweetness really builds and develops a bit of a medicinal, chalky sugar minerality. That bitter tanned leather is still present here as well. - Conclusion - This is frustratingly challenging while being uncomplex and out of balance. The aroma showed promise, but this doesn't taste good. I'm thinking around an 8 here. It's probably not a 6, but it's definitely not better than a 9.
