Review #31 - Others #2 This bottle has been open for many years, with just a small amount left at the bottom. As a result, a lot of oxidation has likely occurred, affecting the tasting notes in this review. Nose - Very pleasant, no alcohol smell, very sweet, with honey and caramel, somewhat reminiscent of some bourbons. Palate - Nothing like the nose, a very strong alcohol burn at the start...with no other aromas...in the middle palate it's spicy with an underlying sweetness, with some honey and caramel just like on the nose. Finish - Tastes like chemicals, artificial, with a strange sour note at the end...sugary. It is indeed very cheap, but it is also very poor quality. I would never buy anything like this again, as it's not only barely drinkable but also lacks any complexity, offering only artificial elements. I know it's not meant to be sipped neat, but as someone who doesn't drink mixed drinks...it's definitely not enjoyable.

Everette Borges 3.5

An uncommon 1970s release of Captain Morgan Black Label Jamaican Rum. Captain Morgan gets its name from a Welsh pirate, Captain Henry Morgan, who later governed Jamaica! It starts with smells of cola & lime, develops with rich notes of biscuit & port, and concludes with a long, molasses-heavy finish with a whisper of beer. January / April 2018

To me, it has the same scent and flavor as Bacardi black. Best suited for cocktails. An average, unaged rum.
