About this bottle
Screech, a Jamaican rum imported and bottled in Newfoundland, possesses one of the most unusual spirit names. The Canadian province has a history of shipping salted cod to the Caribbean and returning with bulk rum for bottling and distribution across Canada. The origin of the Screech name is unclear, possibly stemming from the cry of a sailor who drank very poor-quality rum, though the current offering is considered much better.
