ABK6 Extra is aged for decades in Limousin oak casks, which contributes to its golden hue and a rich olfactory experience, culminating in a robust and satisfying finish that leaves you wanting more. The nose is a complex and wonderful combination of woody cedar, sweet stone fruits like apricot and tangerines, with a subtle hint of vanilla hidden within the elegant aromas. The taste is a symphony of flavors that present at different levels: initially, a noticeable fruit influence of tangerine and apricot, followed by a strong cinnamon-like spice in the mid-palate, which immediately gives way to a woody cedar/pine flavor that gradually develops in the finish with more citrus fruit notes and a lasting woody cedar impression. At times, the lingering finish was so captivating it made my palate feel alive, stimulating saliva production. The finish is long, complex, and well worth experiencing. While the drink remained consistent throughout, you would certainly need multiple tastings to fully appreciate it. Although the price is high, it is justified by the quality.

About this bottle
ABK6 is a cognac with deep family roots, despite its modern name and packaging. The name ABK6 is derived from the French pronunciation of the Abécassis family name. The family cultivates nearly 500 acres of vineyards in the Fins Bois region, where they produce their single estate cognacs. The Extra bottling is a blend of cognacs that have been aged for decades in Limousin oak, presented at cask strength in an elegant crystal decanter.
