Alvin Harvey 1.8

It's not the worst, but it's far from good. Any wood notes detected are harsh and unfinished, unlike the pleasant vanilla and caramel from a standard barrel. Ethanol and damp cardboard dominate the palate and finish. I'd be curious to taste it at 100 proof after five years in a 53-gallon barrel.

Lukas Church 4.3

Truly fascinating! I sampled it with an owner who provided excellent descriptions of the flavors and aromas. Notes of rye bread with raisin/date, clove, and allspice. The aroma was the most impressive aspect, very complex. Made from a blend of Colorado and Canadian rye. The most distinctive rye I've encountered so far.
