Nose: Vanilla, caramel, oak with a hint of menthol. A bit muted, but the bourbon aging really comes through! Palate: Creme brulee, cherry cough drop, a bit of agave nectar followed by a wave of spice. The oak is detectable in every sip. Mouthfeel is rich and bourbon-like. Finish: A nice long, spicy finish. Cinnamon red hot candies and some allspice are the dominant notes as it concludes. Overall: This is a bourbon lover's tequila! It possesses all the characteristics of bourbon with the rich, buttery mouthfeel of tequila. There's just enough vegetal agave to remind you that this is aged tequila, not light bourbon. It's a really enjoyable and potentially dangerously good drink. If you're a bourbon enthusiast looking to explore tequila, I suggest this as a gentle introduction.

This is a truly wonderful tequila. We anticipated a great spirit, but this one surpasses mere greatness; it is exceptional. The nose is delicate, featuring notes of vegetal agave alongside the sweet corn found in bourbon. A light spiciness and oak contribute a warm undertone. The flavor is masterfully crafted, yet maintains a similar subtlety. Notes of mild agave, vanilla, caramel, wood, toast, and praline offer a confident and welcoming experience on the palate. The finish is medium-long with a nutty sensation that persists for several minutes after fading. We are eager to sample the other expressions in this series, but this Weller version has captured our hearts.
