The Expresiones del Corazón collection from Corazón Tequila, made at Casa San Matías Distillery in Jalisco, features barrel-aged tequilas. This tequila underwent maturation for a minimum of 22 months in Buffalo Trace Distillery bourbon barrels that previously held whiskey for at least 22 years. This marks the fourth release in the collection, available nationally with limited quantities as of June 2018.

My journey into spirits began with tequila before I developed a fondness for bourbon. This is an excellent combination from Sazerac. The nose is sweet with notes of caramel, almond, and oak.
