Expresiones del Corazon Barrel-Aged Tequila (Eagle Rare Anejo)

Nose: Initially, I detect the scent of green apple peels. Palate: It possesses a buttery, sweet, and remarkably smooth character! I perceive hints of white pepper, some cherry and/or apple, along with sweet agave nectar. This sip is truly refined. Finish: It transitions to lighter, crisper notes, perhaps best described as lemongrass. It doesn't overwhelm but leaves a lingering impression. Overall: I wished for more characteristics from a previous favorite, which was undoubtedly my top bourbon of the previous year. This had some of those elements but not enough. The finish on a prior release was much superior. All things considered, it's an excellent tequila, but not precisely what I anticipated. It had very good balance, yet it doesn't leave me craving more.

Corazón Expresiones Añejo Tequila - Eagle Rare Single Barrel Select is an excellent, refined single barrel Tequila from producer Nom 1103. It was matured for at least 12 months in a barrel previously used for Eagle Rare Whiskey, before being bottled at 40% ABV. It begins with delicate notes of agave and spices; a smooth progression introduces hints of caramel, almonds, leather, and orange zest; culminating in a swift conclusion with notes of honey, cinnamon, milk chocolate, and citrus.
