Served neat. The aroma is honey, vanilla, anise, and agave. The taste begins with rich, sweet, honeyed cedar, vanilla, roasted agave, plenty of herbs, mainly anise, and cocoa. The flavors persist briefly before becoming tart, sweet, and bitter saccharine. The mouthfeel is moderate. Overall, it's sweet, herbal, and bitter. It's better suited for sipping than shooting. It's above average for its price point and comes in a cool bottle.

About this bottle
Espanita Tequila uses 100% blue agave sourced from Los Altos, Jalisco. The agaves are cooked for 72 hours in brick ovens and then distilled in alembic pot stills after natural fermentation. Their Añejo expression matures for 18 months in ex-bourbon barrels before bottling. American artist Pitbull serves as the brand's global ambassador.

As I'm quite new to tequila, please consider my thoughts with a grain of salt. My background is in bourbon, and the influence from the bourbon barrel is evident with vanilla and distinct oak notes. The primary taste is sweet agave, with a subtle mint presence in the background. It's a fantastic find for the cost.
Nose: Less intense than the reposado, with subtle pepper and vanilla. I detected orange peel initially, but it vanished. Taste: Rich dark chocolate, pepper, vanilla, and caramel – it was an explosion in my mouth.
Neat, it has a sweet and spiced taste. It pairs well with a fine cigar after dinner.
