Surprisingly, the aroma of peat smoke is very reserved on the nose, with only a faint hint of creosote apparent after several attempts to detect it. On the palate, the sweet agave flavor is prominent, followed by a touch of saltiness. A light smokiness, reminiscent of cigar smoke, only appears at the very end of the flavor experience. The body is medium, and the finish is exceptionally long. As the younger expression in the Mundial Collection, this one is a bit shy initially but will grow on you quickly.

About this bottle
The inaugural release in El Tesoro's Mundial series, this tequila explores global cask finishes. For this edition, Master Distiller Carlos Camarena collaborated with the Laphroaig distillery. The tequila was initially aged for nine months in ex-bourbon barrels before a four-month finishing period in Laphroaig 10-Year-Old casks. It became available in limited quantities in November 2021 at 40% ABV.
