About this bottle

Drouet is a cognac brand originating from a single estate located in the Grande Champagne region. All production stages, from vineyard cultivation to bottling, are carried out on their 80-acre property. The cognac is made using Ugni blanc and some colombard grapes, and the wine is distilled on the lees. The eaux de vie in the Ulysse cuvée are aged for an average of 20 years in used French oak barrels, following an initial period of six months to one year in new French oak. This bottling is named in tribute to master distiller Patrick Drouet's great-great grandfather, Ulysse Dumargue.

Natalia Lance 3.5

Perhaps this was too much for a tired palate as I concluded my tasting session with this as a dessert. It was pleasant, but I favored the bourbons and the Cladich. It possesses a deep, rich character with an aged wood profile.

Chloe Lacy 4.8

The aroma offers notes of dried fruits, with suggestions of tobacco on the smooth yet somewhat dry conclusion. This is a rich and luxurious cognac that is a permanent resident on my shelf. The bottle itself is also quite appealing.

I smell cedar.
