I finally opened my bottle after waiting nearly a year. The nose offers sweet chocolate and sherry, with a lovely color. The palate is smooth and sweet, with a slight lingering warmth at the end. The sherry influence is well-integrated and not overwhelming. A nice sipping treat from Don Q that's affordably priced. I purchased mine at the PR Airport during a promotion, getting two for around $80.

This is truly excellent! You might not even guess it's rum in a blind tasting. The aroma is subtly sweet with a sherry finish. The taste is smooth, like butter and caramel, with a very mild burn at the end. This and Penny Blue might encourage me to drink more rum!
Though I typically prefer bourbon, a coworker insisted I try this, and I'm happy with my decision. The gentle sherry aftertaste, balanced by a pleasing spice, is fantastic. I never imagined I'd enjoy rum, but this could lead to a new passion.
