About this bottle

Produced in clay pot stills from the estate's own soil, this mezcal originates from Santa Catarina Minas. The proprietors maintain their agave fields and are dedicated to land stewardship and regeneration. Their traditional production methods include using wood for roasting agave underground. These ancestral techniques have been passed down and refined within their family for over 300 years, spanning 11 generations. The agave used is Arroqueño, a variety of Agave americana Oaxacensis.

Madisyn Miller 5.0

Very intriguing with notes of caramelized roasted agave, smoke, chocolate, espresso, tropical fruit, floral elements, pepper, minerality, and citrus.

Ruby Hinson 4.3

The nose has a vegetal smoke. The palate is balanced with earthy agave, a hint of sweetness, and a mild smoky finish.

Neal Petty 3.5

Less harsh than Nuestra Soledad. Well-balanced and mild.

Zoey Bostic 4.0

Quite pleasant with some sweetness.

Shelley Power 4.0

A consistently smoky character throughout.
