About this bottle

KAH Tequila is produced at the Fabrica de Tequilas Finos in Jalisco's Tequila Valley. Their reposado tequila is made from 100% blue Weber agave, which is double-distilled and then aged for over 2 months in American oak barrels. The name KAH, meaning "life" in the ancient Mayan language, is reflected in the unique bottle design that honors the Mesoamerican holiday Día de los Muertos, or "Day of the Dead."

Jan Oh 3.0

Received a 50ml sample at 55% ABV, tasted neat. Smells of cooked agave, spice, sweet vanilla, and alcohol vapor. The taste brings agave and earthy wood, an alcohol burn, followed by caramel, floral notes, and citrus. It has a thin body. The finish is brief, with spicy grass, oak, and alcohol. At 55% ABV, this is a bolder reposado than usual, and that should be acknowledged. It's made industrially but benefits from oak aging. Therefore, due to the high alcohol content, it will mix better than it sips. However, considering the price I'm seeing for a 750ml bottle ($60-80), it's a very expensive mixer. You're essentially paying for the ceramic skull bottle (or the square ceramic one with a skull design).

This is a remarkable reposado and wonderfully easy to drink at such a high proof. The rich caramel flavors are the highlight here... easily the best of the KAH brand, in my view. The bottle is also beautiful.

Britney Corona 4.0

Unexpected given the high alcohol content, but it doesn't come across as overly strong or anything; there's a subtle touch of vanilla and spice from the barrel, along with the baked agave.

Josh Aparicio 4.0

Delicious served over ice on a warm summer evening.

Tanya Danielson 3.5

Cake with pineapple baked on top.

Angel Monk 4.5

Butterscotch on the aftertaste.
