About this bottle

This mezcal is produced in Santa Catarina Minas using clay pot stills made from the estate's soil. The distillery cultivates its own agave fields and is dedicated to sustainable land management and replanting. Traditional methods are also employed for roasting the agave in the earth. The production techniques have been passed down and refined within their family for over 11 generations, spanning more than 300 years. Agave Largo is a subtype of agave Karwinskii.

Tamra Leigh 4.5

The aroma carries herbal notes, and the taste is surprisingly smooth. A pronounced initial impression of vegetation gives way to a sweet sensation in the middle of the palate. The finish is of medium length, leaving you wanting another sip. This is not a smoky mezcal and ranks among the best three in my collection.

Tim Mills 3.0

I get a whole lot of dark chocolate and minerality. Interesting, but not compelling enough to purchase a bottle.

Rosanna Tillman 3.0

Earthy and nutty. Decent. Experienced at the Tahona virtual tasting.

Corinne Paniagua 4.5

Really pleasant, with a vegetal character and a nice aftertaste.
