Several years ago, I acquired a bottle and was pleasantly surprised. This is a very good rum, complemented by quality coffee infusion. I'd happily try it again, but sadly, La Colombo has ceased operations at their distillery.

About this bottle
La Colombe, established by Todd Carmichael and JP Iberti, initially focused on coffee roasting. Their global travels in search of coffee beans led them to discover that certain coffee producers also created their own moonshine, inspiring the creation of their own spirit at their primary location. Crafted from cane sugar, the rum is then infused with Panama Geisha and Indian Monsoon Malabar coffee beans, regarded among the world's finest. The infusion process employs "cavitation," where the beans are exposed to a pressurized inert gas, prompting the release of their flavors. This rum is bottled at 40% ABV.

I'd classify this as a novelty. La Colombe is excellent at coffee but still has room to grow in the distilling world.
Unremarkable, merely rum with a coffee essence.
