About this bottle

Deanston Virgin Oak Cask Strength (2023 Edition) is a single malt from the Highlands distillery Deanston, marking the first Cask Strength bottling in its Virgin Oak line. The single malt undergoes initial aging in ex-bourbon barrels, followed by a 12-month maturation in virgin American oak barrels sourced from Kelvin Cooperage. It is bottled at 58.3% ABV and is non-chill filtered. The release occurred in the fall, with the US receiving its allocation in November 2023 through select retailers and online sellers. (SRP $97.99)

Kristine Rowell 3.5

Straightforward caramel flavor. Molasses notes are present. A bit of spice on the higher notes.

Hallie Kirkpatrick 3.3

Surprisingly smooth for being 46%, it almost tastes watered down.
