About this bottle

Compass Box presents Art & Decadence, a limited edition blended whisky. This creation utilizes unpeated malt and grain whiskies, all matured in diverse casks. The primary component, making up 42% of the blend, is malt whisky from Balmenach that underwent a separate finishing process in Marsala, Sauternes, and Madeira dessert wine casks. The blend also incorporates malt whiskies from Linkwood, matured in Palo Cortado sherry casks, and Glen Moray, finished in oloroso sherry casks, along with grain whisky from Port Dundas. A total of 9,496 bottles are available globally, with US availability commencing on November 1, 2023.

Naomi Downing 4.3

The container is certainly stylish. Perhaps the whiskey is not as luxurious. Nose: Reserved and delicate, but the aromas present are quite pleasant. Toffee, honey, apples, licorice, red fruits, nuts, and herbal scents. Palate: Similarly reserved, smooth, well-rounded, spicy, and semi-sweet, featuring dried red fruits, honey, licorice, walnuts, savory notes, and traces of chocolate and vanilla. Finish: Extended, savory, and spicy. Finished bottle on 2/14/26 My impressions are quite similar, but the aroma has become my favorite aspect, very fragrant. I would consider buying it again. Increased rating by 1/4 point.

Earl Kong 4.8

It brings to mind indulgence, though with added complexity. This characteristic is present throughout the entire selection. It's excellent for fans of sherry and for those who don't get as much satisfaction from smoky spirits.

Adelaide Calderon 4.8

This is a labyrinth of tastes, sawdust, cake, wax, peppermint, tobacco, apricot, creme brulee. Nice aftertaste, super complex option!

Fernando Hankins 5.0

This had a slight resemblance to Balvenie DoubleWood, though it was a touch sweeter from start to finish. Quite pleasing.
