About this bottle

The Cragganmore distillery, located in Ballindaloch, Speyside, owes its existence to the opening of the Strathspey railway in 1863. Founded by John Smith, who previously managed the Macallan, Glenlivet, and Glenfarclas distilleries, Cragganmore consistently attracted considerable interest. A unique characteristic of Cragganmore's whisky world is its stills, which feature flat tops instead of the typical swan neck. This design enhances reflux, contributing to a more complex character than is common among other Speyside distilleries. The Cragganmore 25 Year Old is part of Diageo's Special Release bottlings, with a limited production of 3,372 bottles.

Virginia Preciado 4.0

I appreciated this bottling, but was ultimately let down. It might have aged too long in the barrel, as the oak and wood spices overshadow the other more delicate aromas. Heather and cinnamon on the nose, melon on the palate with strong oak and wood spices. Honey attempts to emerge but hardly succeeds. The body is unexpectedly light and the finish is neither brief nor prolonged.
