About this bottle

Código 1530 uses 100% blue weber agave from Amatitán, Mexico, harvested seven years after planting. The agaves are cooked in stainless steel ovens and distilled twice. The Código 1530 Reposado is then aged for six months in French white oak barrels that previously held Napa cabernet wine before being bottled at 40% ABV. It is free of additives.

Leticia Stout 3.5

An intricate, aged agave spirit from Amatitán, Mexico, made by NOM 1500. It's the sole Reposado with over seven years of age, subsequently matured for six months in premium Napa Cabernet French White Oak barrels. It begins aromatically with agave and green pepper hints, transitioning to a full-bodied, spicy life featuring vanilla, cacao, and caramelized nuts, concluding with a well-rounded finish. December 2019

Micah Mojica 4.0

Aromas of vanilla custard, dark fruit, and agave. A touch of ethanol. The palate has agave and citrus, with some caramel. The finish shows more influence from the cabernet barrel, with tannins, chocolate, dark fruit, and some orange peel. This is a pleasant, unique reposado, but could be slightly better integrated.

Donnell Langford 4.0

The pour has a golden hue. The nose presents floral, almost perfumed notes with a subtle alcohol presence. The palate features vegetal agave, a mild fruity sweetness, and a trace of alcohol, accompanied by a faint warmth. It has a medium body and finish. It's a good spirit, though the slight alcohol taste was a bit off-putting.

Maudie Wicker 4.3

Nose presents oak, agave, vanilla, caramel, and pepper. Taste follows with agave, oak, vanilla, caramel, and orange zest. Consumed neat with a tiny bit of ice. Must have been a big fan as the bottle was emptied in three days.

This is amazing! Seriously, I taste caramel and bananas. (My partner disagrees, but I don't care!);-) I also detect very pleasant vanilla and light oak notes. It's also incredibly smooth. I enjoyed this neat.

Messiah Kern 3.5

Starts with a light caramel sweetness, then shifts to notes of orange peel, salt, and lime. It has a fresher agave character than roasted, with hints of hay and oak, plus a touch of fruit. The finish has a slight spice, but it’s not overwhelming. Enjoyable.
