This is an exquisite, high-end rum. The coconut in the name doesn't indicate a coconut-flavored rum; instead, this excellent rum is proofed with fresh coconut water. It's enjoyable neat but also works well in many rum drinks. It's a smooth rum with a subtle coconut hint. The founders used to smuggle coconuts from Guatemala in their luggage when they first began making this wonderful rum, hence the name 'The Coconut Cartel.' It makes a great gift for any rum enthusiast and is a 5-star rum. I hope someone can provide more details on its taste characteristics. This is outstanding. I wasn't sure what to anticipate, but the added coconut water is a fantastic complement to this rim. I enjoyed it over one large ice cube; it was exceptionally smooth, and the coconut water enhanced the great flavors. It's not available in my state, so I'll be disappointed when this bottle is empty.

I used to think I disliked rum! This flavored rum offers a satisfying salted caramel popcorn taste without the cloying, overly sweet aftertaste common in most flavored rums. The final note is toasted coconut, free from any artificial chemical taste.
