Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Coy Hill Barrelhouse 8 (2024 Special Release)

I'd say this is nearly perfect. Balanced, and I might even prefer it to the 2021 release as it's a bit more subdued for me. Not so overpowering. The only flaw I could identify is perhaps the palate being too one-dimensional flavor-wise, but that might be nitpicking as this is great. Nose: Incredibly rich, big cherries, perhaps a grape note. Palate: sweet, viscous, a little heat but not excessive. Definitely has some peanut notes, but again, just so balanced. Finish: medium to long, it just keeps going and going.

Nose: seasoned oak, apple pie, molasses, ginger snaps Palate: explosion of apple pie, cinnamon stick Finish: seasoned oak returns, dark chocolate, espresso, leather I'm surprised to say this, but it's neck and neck with the 2021 release. The lower proof doesn't detract from it. The oak is perfect, not overwhelming, and shines in the finish. 8 on the t8ke scale.

An explosion of Bananas Foster and mint chocolate. Nose: Cinnamon, Red Apples, Honey, Molasses, Bananas Foster, Mint Chocolate, Luxardo Cherries, Pecan Pie Palate/Finish: Bananas Foster, Mint Chocolate, Maple Syrup, Rum Raisins, Honey, Toasted Vanilla

This bottle is fantastic! Robust, powerful, and full-bodied! Allow it some time to breathe; savor each sip slowly. It's like a super-charged Jack Daniels that lingers. One of my absolute favorites.

Nutty? Perhaps a hint of banana, a good amount of vanilla and oak. Very good, but quite hot. Surprisingly smooth neat, but I had to put it on ice to actually taste it, ha!

Hardly anything beyond vapors on the nose. The flavor is... disappointing. Syrupy and tastes artificial. Very high proof, excessively sweet. Burns at the end. Definitely not for me.
