Citadelle Vive le Cornichon Gin (2022 Release)

The cornichons are quite noticeable, yet not overpowering. They stand out but are mellow enough not to overshadow the other elements. This gin is dry and botanical, with hints of Mediterranean herbs like rosemary and thyme. There's a touch of pepperiness. A slight briny tartness is present, clearly from the cornichons. It was primarily acquired for use in martinis, especially Gibson martinis, and it performs well in that capacity. It's unfortunate that this is a limited offering, as it could easily become a go-to for martinis. I would likely keep it stocked regularly.

A subtle juniper backbone is met by light touches of muddled herbs, sharp brine, and cucumber essence. It's pleasant and unique, though perhaps too delicate for a true pickle enthusiast.
