Citadelle Vive le Cornichon Gin is reintroduced as an annual limited edition within the brand's "Les Excentriques" collection. In addition to the 19 botanicals used in standard Citadelle Gin, this expression incorporates cornichon pickles. Maison Marc, located in Burgundy, cultivates the cornichons without the use of pesticides, insecticides, or preservatives. The 2023 release began distribution in the US in November 2023. A familiar aroma with perhaps only a subtle hint of gherkin. Overall, it's very lemon and juniper forward. On the palate, the flavors are smooth and bright, with just a touch of salinity and dill appearing alongside the typical botanicals. The addition of pickle notes is a subtle effect that works well in gin Martinis. This is a flavorful and pleasing addition to Citadelle's lineup.
