Dingle Original Gin

Nose: Primarily lemon aromas (zest, lemongrass, lemon verbena) and also some tangello. It's a bright and fresh citrus introduction followed by floral hints of lavender and honeysuckle with some fresh pine. Juniper is less prominent for a change. Palate: Arrives smoothly and fully with a distinctly floral character. Lavender, rose, and honeysuckle are all present alongside other floral notes I can't quite place. I suspect they might be from botanicals like fuchsia and heather, elements I might be experiencing for the first time. There are also some subtle sweet berry tastes, akin to mild cranberry. The texture is creamy, rich, and warming. Finish: Moderate. The floral notes are dominant, and the lingering taste has a very fragrant quality, almost like jasmine (this likely comes from a botanical I haven't encountered before). An incredibly interesting gin, and it's understandable why it has earned so many accolades. The landscape of modern gin features many excellent varieties, but numerous are merely variations on established concepts. This isn't intended to diminish the expertise of craft producers or criticize new whisky makers for releasing gin to generate income while their initial spirits age. It's simply that this gin possesses a truly unique palate. While a floral-focused aroma isn't uncommon, experiencing such intense floral botanicals on the palate is unexpected, and the success of this gin lies in its masterful execution of this. However, the reduced emphasis on juniper and citrus in the aroma makes it seem a bit reserved initially. This is the sole criticism I have, and it's causing me to deduct a quarter-point from the score. Otherwise, this would be a five-star gin. This gin is excellent enjoyed neat with or without ice, and it also pairs wonderfully with tonic, creating one of the most delightfully flavorful G&Ts I've ever had. The aroma maintains its character even when mixed with tonic and served on the rocks, and the palate is similarly substantial. I received a sample as a gift, and the person who provided it suggested Fever Tree Elderflower tonic as a mixer. This might seem like enhancing an already richly flavored floral spirit, but it works effectively, and I can endorse it. This gin immediately earns a place among the best in my collection, rivaling the excellent Method & Madness Gin I sampled yesterday. "Excellent (very nearly Outstanding)": 89/100 (4.75 stars)

It's gin day in New Zealand. I sampled this after some intensely flavored gins: Shiraz Barrel; Douglas Fir; Saffron, and then Chocolate. Consumed straight, I found it challenging to discern all the subtle notes as my palate was somewhat overloaded, but it mixed wonderfully in my Gin and Grapefruit drink. As a side note, East Imperial tonic is the way to go, a significant upgrade from Feverfew. They offer an excellent Grapefruit Tonic, and their standard one I could drink all day long https://eastimperial.com/ Anyway, thanks to, I will definitely try this again when my palate is refreshed (so I won't provide a rating this time) and if you haven't already, try the Dingle whiskey... I'm a dairy farmer by trade, and wow, what awesome whiskey!

You absolutely must buy at least one bottle of this before you pass away, whether you're a gin enthusiast or not. This is unequivocally my favorite gin, and I don't even drink gin regularly. It's remarkably smooth, finishing with wonderful fruity and floral notes. The significant flavor contribution this gin makes to cocktails, compared to more common gins, is readily apparent.

A straightforward gin. It's excellent neat (without ice), and even superior in standard mixed drinks (I tried it in a sweet Martini, Negroni, and G&T). It checks all the boxes for juniper-forward gins, with added maritime hints reminiscent of Dingle. You're in for a treat.

This is a fantastic Gin. The distiller suggests enjoying it with a bit of orange over ice, and that's exactly how I tried it. My partner and I nearly finished the whole bottle right after we bought it because it was so delicious. I'd definitely suggest it, and it will be a regular in my house.

Absolutely beautiful Gin with a smooth flavor and a peppery finish; very revitalizing. I enjoyed it with an orange slice and some juniper berries; it's definitely among my favorites.
