Excellent spontaneous purchase. This gin excels in flavor. It's invigorating, citrusy with hints of melon, lemon, and yuzu. Very fragrant. Subtle traces of pepper and certainly juniper. In summary, it might not appeal to those who prefer more conventional tastes, but I found it delightful served neat or mixed with tonic, sparkling water, etc.

About this bottle
Citadelle Jardin d'été, launching in April 2021 as a permanent addition to the Citadelle gin range, draws inspiration from the gardens at Château de Bonbonnet in Ars, France. Created by Master Distiller Alexandre Gabriel, this gin aims to capture the essence of the location. Alongside the 19 botanicals found in the standard Citadelle gin, it features Charentais melon, whole lemon, yuzu zest, and orange peel. The standard botanicals include juniper berries, lemon zest, cardamom, cubeb, coriander, nutmeg, Sichuan pepper, cinnamon, cassia, licorice, angelica, iris, almonds, fennel, cumin, star anise, savory, and violet. A juniper orchard is situated across from the chateau. The gin is bottled at 41.5% ABV.

A sharp Gin from France. Its aromatic beginning features notes of juniper, citrus, herbs, and spice. A balanced middle brings citrus, melons, licorice, and quinine. It concludes with a rich, smooth finish of pink peppercorn, citrus peel, and white wildflowers.
This is an excellent gin with many botanicals. I prefer it with sparkling mineral water, as I find tonic too sweet. Add a piece of lime and you will be delighted with the results.
Generally mild, with prominent multi-layered fruity citrus notes, accompanied by hints of juniper, florals, and mild pepper. A divine balance of summery flavors at an almost unbeatable value.
Vibrant initially, then the fruit emerges as it lingers. Appears thoughtfully crafted and well-matched with an elderflower tonic water I had. Big fan!
Very vibrant lemon/orange taste. Subtle melon and pepper on the finish. Pairs well with tonic. The crispness is truly enjoyable.
