About this bottle

Citadelle Gin's 25th anniversary is commemorated with the limited edition Juniper Décadence, a gin building on the original release from 1996. This expression utilizes the same 19 botanicals, including violet, almond, lemon and orange peels, licorice, grains of paradise, cubeb, cumin, and star anise. Notably, a significant amount of juniper was sourced from the Cognac region. Furthermore, the gin underwent aging in small, toasted juniper barrels constructed with straight sides due to the wood's unsuitability for curved staves. It became available in select US markets in August 2022 with a suggested retail price of $34.99.

Gale Good 4.5

The aroma features bright juniper. The mouthfeel is fresh, almost creamy, with top notes of vanilla and lemon. Piney juniper flavor appears mid-palate, offering a robust and inviting sensation. Deeper notes reveal a fresh-cut wood essence reminiscent of the winter holidays. The finish is medium-long, concluding with a subtly sweet tone. Overall, this is a valuable addition to the Citadelle range. An excellent gin for a Martini, highlighting its inherent flavors.
