EnGINe Gin

A friend provided this gin as a gift, and I'm very pleased he did. The packaging resembles an old-fashioned oil can with an internal plastic lining to prevent metal interaction with the gin. On the nose, it presents a sweet aroma with juniper notes and some citrus, rounded out by ethanol. The body is smooth. I sampled it neat, and while not exceptionally smooth, it wasn't off-putting. The citrus is more pronounced, along with the other botanicals. The finish was pleasant and brief. This gin makes an excellent Gin and Tonic but only an adequate Martini. The Martini is unusual because the gin's botanicals don't harmonize well with the botanicals in Noilly Prat Dry Vermouth. Overall, I enjoyed this gin and might incorporate it into my regular selection. Enjoy.

A genuinely enjoyable gin in its entirety. The aroma is quite sharp, reminiscent of paint thinner, which, straight from the container, didn't foster much hope 😂 The initial sip is subtle and velvety, leading into a pleasant bitterness (evoking dark juniper and almost charred lime zest). The conclusion and lingering taste are rather understated and brief. When mixed in a G&T, the gin's depth becomes slightly more apparent, though the bitterness persists. In a negroni, it combines wonderfully with the Campari. For those who appreciate bolder, more bitter gins, this is a solid choice.

Citrus (lemon) is prominent, but it's on the milder side of citrus-forward. I detect significant spice, surprisingly so, on the finish with a black pepper bite, and possibly sage. It's well-balanced, maybe too well-balanced, but it's light, fresh, and pretty decent. It makes a tasty gin and tonic. The packaging is also appealing, though I found the can's dimensions made it a little tricky to pour into my jigger compared to a taller bottle.

Never tried Italian Gin before, but if this is the standard, I’m sold. It’s bright and refreshing with lemon citrus, followed by grapefruit on the finish. The juniper is subtle, while licorice and sage are more noticeable. The unique bottle design was the reason for purchase.

A bright, citrusy gin perfect for warm weather tonic drinks. It pairs well with lime or lemon in tonic. Delightful on both the nose and palate.

This gin is highly floral and vibrant, with a strong citrus aroma and subtle notes of sage and licorice on the palate.
