Heering Cherry Liqueur

Appearance: Deep, nearly black, dark red. Holding it to the light reveals a hint of translucency, showing a color akin to Merlot. Aroma: Tastes like cherry syrup. A background hint of almonds is present. Flavor and Texture: Sweeter than the aroma suggests, but not overwhelmingly so. Cherries are definitely present, leaning more toward bittersweet than purely sweet, with that almond note reappearing. The mouthfeel is fairly standard. Quite similar to a tart cherry preserve. Upon initial tasting, it might strike you as a bit tart and sour for a liqueur. However, it grows on you and becomes more enjoyable. It functions better as a component in a drink rather than on its own. It shines brightest in a Singapore Sling (find a recipe that suits your taste from the multitude out there). It also works wonderfully when incorporated into ganache for homemade chocolate fillings, or mixed into red berry preserves for Danish pastries. "Very Good": 85/100 (4 stars)

This is the only Cherry Brandy you should ever purchase. It's thick and syrupy with intense tart cherry and medicinal flavors. Consider it a more complex version of the syrup found in a jar of Luxardo cherries. Essential for making a Blood and Sand or Singapore Sling.

Too syrupy for me neat, but I can see how it would add an interesting flavor to a cocktail. It's almost like drinking the syrup from a jar of Luxardo cherries.
